AROUND EFFORT
Uphill Lovers is a mountain expedition culture brand based in Greece. We run focused movement experiences — from two-hour ridge sessions to seven-day wilderness traverses — across some of the most demanding and least-visited mountain terrain in Europe.
We are not a tourism company. We don’t sell views. We design experiences around the physical and psychological process of moving through difficult terrain — the effort, the uncertainty, the earned clarity that comes from both.
Small groups. Specific terrain. Honest difficulty. That’s the whole proposition.
We don’t optimise for ease. Every experience we design starts from the terrain and works backward — not from the amenities and outward. Earned discomfort is part of the proposition.
Maximum six people. Always. Not because we can’t run larger — because real attention to each person’s movement is impossible beyond that threshold. Quality over capacity.
The mountain, not the postcard. We operate in raw conditions on real terrain. There is no curated version of the Pindus. We don’t pretend otherwise.
The Pindus, Olympus, Taygetos, Smolikas — Greek mountain terrain is exceptional, underestimated, and barely explored. We have deep, specific knowledge of these places. That specificity matters.

For years, Makis has been moving through mountains with a fast, light and intentional approach — combining performance, safety and exploration.
He is driven by effort, adaptability and curiosity for remote terrain and authentic experiences.
Through UPHILL LOVERS, he hopes to create experiences that reconnect people with movement, challenge, nature and the deeper instincts modern life often suppresses.
Certified mountain leader, wilderness first aid provider and trail runner.
With strong organizational awareness and an explorer’s curiosity, Eirini designs experiences that combine movement, landscape, history and adventure.
Her calm presence and efficient movement in mountain terrain make her a grounding force within the team.
She believes the strongest connections are built through shared effort, simplicity and authentic time in nature.
Greece has over 50 peaks above 2,000m, a coastline that rises directly from sea level to alpine terrain, and a mountain culture that has been overlooked by international adventure tourism for decades. That neglect is exactly what makes it right.
The Pindus offers 300km of continuous ridge movement. Olympus is genuinely wild above 2,000m. The Taygetos descends 2,400 vertical meters to the Mani coast in under 30km. These are world-class mountain routes that almost nobody is doing.
We know this terrain specifically, not generically. That specificity is the whole point.
